dave silva saddle for sale
- Built sometime in the late 1960’s to early 1970’s as best as we can tell.
- The stamping design is called “Arrow Basket”
- The Tree is a “Old Mexico”
- Mexican Horn, 4” Finished Cap, Rawhide Bound
- The Cantle is 3-1/2” (finished 4”) H X 12” W X 1” Dish
- Gullet is 7-3/4” High, 6-1/4” Wide Semi QH
- Arizona Bars 23-1/2” Long with a 13” Bar Spread (Similar to what some may consider Semi Quarter Horse). This saddle will fit a wide variety of horses.
- Seat is 16”
- Tree Manufacture is the Standard Tree Mfg. Co.
This saddle has been inspected and cleaned and oiled from top to bottom. Guaranteed stout and as good as new. In addition to a great “using” saddle, it is a "mint condition collectible". A solid, legitimate investment!
Considered one of the top saddle makers in the country, if Dave Silva were alive today this saddle would cost about 7,000.00, UP! The value increases in my opinion due to the age and excellent condition. Mr. Silva died in 2007 and stopped making saddles a number of years prior to his death. Known as the last and top saddle maker for the Visalia Stock Saddle Co. (Visalia’s last Foreman) has an unknown factor to increasing the value.
